RADnet Connection Information
Description
NOTE: This page is still under construction
XLX927 is a multiprotocol reflector, with up to 26 modules that can be utilized. At present, only 10 are enabled. Each module is a separate room that can be accessed. A transcoding server is attached to the reflector to allow up to 4 channels to be transcoded at once. That would be two modules allowing DStar to DMR or Fusion communication at one time.
Two repeaters are presently connected to the system. W2XRX 145.29MHz is connected using System Fusion mode. W2XRX on 444.825 MHz is connected via YSF, DMR. D-Star, and P25. Both are in Ontario County NY on hills at arround 1900 feet above sea level, and 2100 feet above sea level respectively. Their connections will be described below.
How To Access
Yaesu System Fusion
- Use DN mode to the 145.29 MHz W2XRX repeater if in RF range li>Use DN mode to the 444.825MHz MHz W2XRX repeater if in RF range
- Use Wires-X room #21704 if connected to Wires-X
- (Hotspot) Depending on system being used, should be one of the following:
- XLX927
- US-XLX927
- YSF-00927
YSF will default to Module B.
To Navigate to other modules, use the DG-ID shown on this page: http://k2as-ref.xyz/index.php?show=modules
DMR
(Hotspot) XLX927 Module B (TG6, Color Code 1, Slot 2 for DMR)
No special Talk Group or Brandmeister connection should be required for DMR. You should be able to connect directly to XLX927 with Pi-Star or WPSD using the settings above.
To change modules after initial connection, procedures vary by radio, but change talkgroup to 640XX and make a Private Call. Module list with TG can be seen at http://k2as-ref.xyz/index.php?show=modules
NEW July 29, 2025 – XLX927 Module B is now connected to the AmComm DMR Network. When connected to the AmComm network, use Rochester Area Digital Talk Group 31366 (TG is 31366, but prefix 80 may be required to connect in Pi-Star and WPSD if AmComm is not your main DMR network).
D-Star
(Hotspot) XLX927 for DStar
Here is the info on how to connect:
- DPlus URCALL REF927BL
- DPlus DTMF *927B
- DExtra URCALL XRF927BL
- DExtra DTMF B927B
- DCS URCALL DCS927BL
- DCS DTMF D927B
To connect to Module B and talk with Fusion or DMR users, the easiest way is to connect to XLX927 Module B if you are able.
To navigate to other modules, use the pertinent D-Star code for the desired module – http://k2as-ref.xyz/index.php?show=modules
Guidelines for Use
- In short —- leave some space —
- If accessing the reflector using YSF or no specific module on DMR, wait 3 to 4 seconds before picking up the PTT after the other station stops talking.
- Similarly, after you stop speaking, wait a second or two before letting go of the PTT button.
YSF D-Star and DMR to Wires-X Bridge
The XLX Reflector is bridged to Wires-X Room 21704 (XARC Room). The W2XRX repeater is also usually connected to the XARC Room (unless a user has moved it temporarily). This means that a user with an HT and a hotspot can connect to our W2XRX repeater with Fusion/YSF, DMR, or DStar and carry on a QSO with a mobile user on the repeater.
The XLX027 reflector is on 24/7. The bridge to Wires-X Room 21704 is currently part-time, usually 7:30AM until 11:50 PM daily. It will vary if a repeater user enters Wires-X control mode and moves to another room as well.
The bridging hardware and software resides at the K2AS QTH, along with the transcoding server. Power outages, hardware issues, home network and/or issues with my ISP can affect the operation of the bridge. Hopefully, these are rare.
